This Rolex Air-King ref. 116900, dated 2023, pays tribute to the collection’s aviation heritage, whose name first appeared at Rolex in 1945 as a reference to aviation pioneers and the era’s speed records. Introduced in 2016, this generation is distinguished by its 40 mm Oystersteel case, characteristic crown guards and black instrument-inspired dial, featuring a highly legible minute scale together with luminous 3, 6 and 9 numerals. It is powered by the automatic Rolex calibre 3131, equipped with enhanced anti-magnetic protection, a particularly relevant feature for a watch inspired by aviation. Water-resistant to 100 metres and fitted with Rolex’s iconic Oyster bracelet, this Air-King combines robustness, functionality and a highly distinctive design. As the 116900 reference was replaced by the 126900 generation in 2022, the 2023 date generally refers to its warranty card or date of circulation.
